
Częstochowa Tour - The Black Madonna

Częstochowa city is widely recognized for the Pauline monastery of Jasna Góra, which is in possession of the Black Madonna painting located in a shrine of the Virgin Mary in the Basilica. The Black Madonna, is the embodiment of the deep attachment to the Cult of Mary which is typical for the Catholic faith in Poland. Every year, around 5 million visitors from all over the world (including over 150 thousand pilgrims on foot) arrive to the monastery to see the painting.
Our private tour to Częstochowa takes approximately 8 hours. We usually arrange pick up time at around 8.30 a.m. or 9.30 a.m., but the afternoon Tours are also available. The ride lasts for about 2 h each way, remaining time is for the sightseeing. We will start our tour in the Basilica, which is the main church of the monastery of Jasna Góra. Later you will have a chance to see the 600th-Anniversary Museum along with the Treasury. At the end of the tour we will visit the chapel of the miraculous painting of the Black Madonna. Later you will be able to spend your time as you please, to stroll through the town at your own pace.On the way back we will stop for a meal at the restaurant settled at the foot of the ruins of the medieval castle Olsztyn to admire breathtaking view.
